Romanian Publishing Group becomes Edipresse AS Romania |

Starting with February 16, 2005 Romanian Publishing Group becomes Edipresse AS Romania. The new name of the company comes as a consequence of the existing joint venture between the international press group Edipresse, with branches in nine countries, based in Lausanne, Switzerland and Axel Springer AG, a multimedia international group, which activates in many European countries and in United States of America.
Edipresse started its expansion as an international press group in 1988, but its history starts in 1906, at Lausanne. Ever since, the company has continuously developed and today the group publishes more than 125 titles due to its branches in nine countries: Switzerland, Spain, Portugal, Russia, Poland, Mexico, Greece, Romania and Ukraine.
Axel Springer AG was founded in 1946 in Hamburg, Germany. Over the past fifty years, Axel Springer AG has developed into one of Europe's leading multimedia companies, with various activities in the print press segment (newspapers national and regional magazines, books), in the online services and telecommunications sectors, with investments in radio and television channels.
Edipresse AS Romania publishes eleven titles: Avantaje (since 1995), Elle (since 1997), Viva! (since 1999), Olivia (since 1999), Povestea Mea (since 1996), Intamplari adevarate (since 1997), Popcorn (since 1995), Deco Style (since 2003), Look! (since 2003), Sana (since 2004) and Joy (since November 2004)
