Avantaje magazine and Avon Cosmetics Romania announced the winners for the “Woman of the Year Awards 2006”. This year, at the ninth edition, a popularity prize, voted by the Avantaje readers and another 6 excellence prizes for different categories, has been awarded. For the popularity prize, seven personalities from audio-visual domain have been nominee, women actively involved in charitable activities as much as in promoting culture and authentic values.
The nominees were published in the January issue of Avantaje magazine, and the votes were registered until January 20th 2007.
This year, the nominees for the popularity prize were: Dana Deac, Amalia Enache, Andreea Marin Banica, Irina Pacurariu, Andreea Raicu, Mihaela Radulescu, Cristina Topescu. The votesof the readers have been processed by Hit Mail Company.
The winner of the Popularity category was Mihaela Radulescu.
The six excellence prizes of this edition were:
- Her Royal Highness Princess Margareth of Romania – for Social Involvement and Responability
- Dina Loghin from Women Equal Chances Foundation in Iasi – Promoting and Defending Women’s Rights
- Leslie Hawke, Ovidiu Rom Association – Promoting and Defending Child’s Rights
- Mezzo-soprano Ruxandra Donose – Romanian Art Abroad Ambassadory
- Oana Pellea – Art and Culture
- Ecaterina Ani Jager, vicepresident of Romanian Neuromotorial Retardates, Arad branch office, which have been militated for women in invalid chairs for 16 years – Fellow Creature Helping Initiative.
As a premiere, the event has been broadcasted live on the Internet on the Avantaje web site www.avantaje.ro through Fiber Link provided by RDS-RCS Company.
